Frypans are the essential pieces of cookware that are as important as an oven or sink in your kitchen. Whether you are making your favourite omelette for breakfast or searing some steak or fish for dinner, a frypan used almost every day. In today's fast paced world it only makes sense to have a quality non-stick pan that provides both health and practical benefits, being easy to clean and requiring less oil when cooking.

So when it comes to purchasing the right nonstick frypan, one that you will use to cook with daily, there should be no compromise when it comes to quality. After all, it will be used often and should be enjoyable to use and made to last.

To save you the time and effort browsing and researching, we've narrowed down what we believe are the best fry pans on the market today. Please note that these are not ranked in any particular order because the best frypan really depends on a number of factors the three we find the most important being:

  • Size
  • Material
  • Price and Value for Money

The Top 10 Nonstick Frypans of 2018:

1. Swiss Diamond XD

Made in Switzerland, Swiss Diamond's nonstick cookware earned its reputation and fame from being the first manufacturer to use diamonds in their nonstick surfaces. Yes, you read correctly - they actually have diamonds making up their non-stick cookware!

It sounds crazy but there is some strong reasoning for the company doing this, beyond it being a great marketing ploy. The reasons why their pans have hundreds of thousands of tiny diamond crystals is as follows:

  1. Diamonds provide a natural nonstick for better cooking performance
  2. Their hardness reinforces the nonstick properties of the pan for greater durability (able to withstand cooking temperatures up to 260°C!)
  3. Provides even heat distribution

Swiss Diamond boasts that this new XD range has even greater durability and non-stick performance than their previous range as they've been able to add 20% more diamonds in their non-stick layers.

2. De Buyer

Here's something that should go straight into your cookware wishlist. We have never been so impressed with this frying pan and we must say that we have seen quite a few over the years.

The De Buyer company have been producing pans in France since 1830 and is one of the most commercial cookware brands used by professional chefs around the world. Particularly, the Choc Extreme range is made of heavy-duty pressure cast aluminium. The surface of the pan is highly suitable for a long, slow and delicate type of cooking such as fish. It also means the process of developing and retaining the nonstick seasoning element is relatively fast and easy. In fact, some people consider them superior to cast iron.

Following the global success (sold in over 45 countries worldwide) of their Saphir Lite range using sapphire crystals as part of their nonstick coatings, it only made sense for them to introduce the Diamond Lite range. Similar to Swiss Diamond, this range of cookware has diamonds embedded within their nonstick coating, providing similar durability and cooking performance but with an added feature - removable handles!

Continuing along with nonstick cookware manufactured in a Nordic country is Fiskars, out of Finland. This wouldn't be a genuine post if we didn't include the French favourite on the list, Le Creuset. Le Creuset has earned itself a reputation for creating the most stylish and functional cookware in the world. While they are predominantly known for their French Ovens, their Toughened Non-stick range is also a winner.

Le Creuset prides itself on this range by its hard anodised body with a durable non-stick. How durable? Enough for Le Creuset to offer 10 years guarantee on the life of the pan.

So what is our favourite of Scanpan's Evolution non-stick range? The Scanpan Evolution 26cm set.

Scanpan Evolution Frypan

We love our frypan duos but why this set makes our list is because it offers fantastic value and an ideal size combination, particularly for single living or couples. The 20cm frypan is great for making the perfect sized omelette or when cooking for one, whereas the 28cm offers size and versatility. The specific shape of the handles also make it easy for stacking and space saving for easier storage, particularly as our homes and kitchens have become smaller over the years!

9. Castey

Headquartered and designed in Barcelona, Spain, is Casey, a cookware and kitchenware brand that has been around since 1565.

While this list features the best cookware ranges available on the market, we believe that Castey should also earn a spot on this list as while being a lot more affordable than the other brands on here, we believe this cookware is able to keep up with the best of them. The quality of their non-stick is superb and find the evenness when cooking to

A popular seller has been the Fundix range which features handles that are removable to allow for oven use and storage, however, our choice from Castey is the Titanium range. The nonstick is reinforced with titanium making it extra durable without being too bulky and heavy to use - making it great for flipping pancakes and omelettes, tossing vegetables or for easier handling when hand washing.

Our pick of the best non-stick frypan from Castey: the Castey Titanium Frypan 28cm

Similar to Fiskars OH range, we love the sleek elegance of an all black pan. The geometric handles also look fantastic.

10. Pyrolux

If you are looking for great quality cookware on a minimal budget, you cannot look passed Pyrolux which has earned a reputation for being fantastic value for money.

The Pyrolux Ignite range we find to be a strong contender and possessing almost identical qualities to the Le Creuset Toughened Non-Stick range. For a start, the handles look almost identical and if you are questioning the nonstick quality of these pans at this price point, you'll be pleased to know that they come with a triple layer Whitford Quantanium Non-Stick Coating. Developed by Whitford in the USA, this nonstick coating is applied three times during manufacture and has special titanium particles to provide a stronger and more durable nonstick.
