Reusable Shopping Bags

Making grocery shopper easier and better for the environment

Trolley bags are certainly being talked about on lots of internet forums at the moment. Since the Australian major supermarkets and grocery stores have banned single-use plastic bags, shoppers are looking for many different solutions.

And to be honest, it’s easy to carry around our own shopping bags! Throw them in the back of the car, or all bundled up together inside one bag – it really is no problem to make this change in order to help reduce the amount of plastic we produce and continue to use.

Keep Organized with Colour Coded and Numbered Bags

One company has set out to go that little bit further with their reusable bags. Trolley Bags saw this change as a good opportunity to look at the way consumers shop and checkout, and what could be improved within this process.

Trolley Bags help you get more organized as you pack up your shopping. Especially at stores such as Aldi where you pack your own groceries, it’s easy to get caught up in the rush and just stuff things on top of each other.

Trolley Bags are a great help here. Pack frozen goods or pantry items all together in Trolley Bags’ colour coded and numbered, hard-wearing bags right into your trolley, making the checkout experience, un-loading into your car and packing away at home faster and easier.

Easily Lift Bags Out into Car

Evo's Trolley Bags are 4 differently coloured and numbered large-sized bags. They roll up together in the largest bag, making it easy to carry or hang on the back of your trolley as you shop.

Hang the bags onto the sides of your trolley rolling together with a velcro strap so that you can spread them out and fill them up with your shopping when it is time to check out.

How to Use Trolley Bags?

  1. Bring Trolley Bags to the store and hang on the back of your trolley as you shop.
  2. When ready to check out, empty the contents of your trolley onto the checkout conveyor belt.*
  3. Bring your trolley around to the cashier, and spread the trolley bags out so that he/she (or you) can pack your groceries into the bags in the order that you wish.**
  4. Once packed, lift each bag up out of your trolley and transfer into your car.
  5. Once unpacked and groceries put away, lie Trolley Bags on top of each other and roll up for the next use.

Easy Carry Case Wraps Up in Largest Bag

*I’ve been reading online forums lately and found that users of Trolley Bags are sometimes finding it a little tricky to get their shopping onto the conveyor and the trolley bags in place and spread out in time for the cashier to pack the groceries (unless there is already a line of shoppers in front of them).

In supermarkets like Aldi, this causes no problem as the conveyor belts are long and everyone packs their own bags anyway.

In other large supermarkets, one user described a way of getting around this problem by handing the cashier a single Trolley Bag to pack first… then in that time, it takes them to fill up the first bag, you can finish unpacking the trolley and deliver it up to the cashier with the rest of the Trolley Bags in place for packing.

*The other current issue being discussed is that supermarket checkouts are still designed with the single-use plastic bag storers on the end of the checkouts, so it is harder for the cashier to reach the shopping trolley to pack the Trolley Bags.

We did not find this an issue. The cashier just places the items at the end for you to bag yourself. I think that is the thing about trolley bags – they are designed to make packing yourself totally easy and efficient – this way you can organize things exactly how you like.

Why should I consider buying Trolley Bags?

Trolley Bags are great for getting organized with your shopping. I love how easily and efficiently you can unpack your groceries when you get back home: all meats held together, all pantry items, all household cleaners, etc.

Rather than having re-useable bags stuffed everywhere in your bag/car, you can have a neatly rolled pack of Trolley Bags – and the same goes for when they are filled with shopping: they are less likely to fall over, causing groceries to spill or smash.

If you are an Aldi shopper, then these are definitely the bags for you. The checkouts work perfectly when you are packing grocery items yourself into the Trolley Bags. It's neater and is much more efficient than using your own bags.

I feel it is only a matter of time before other big supermarkets adopt this approach, and until then, you can make the process smoother by handing one bag to the cashier if you feel rushed in getting your shopping unloaded and the Trolley Bags ready.
