Scanpan Pro IQ Saucepan 1.5L 18cm
There are a few kitchen items that I could not live without. Can you guess? Yes, yes sharp chef knives are important, but so too is the SAUCEPAN! Have you ever had a pasta without a sauce, or a roast dinner? And I’m sure you’ve heard Chef Manu from MyKitchenRules ask numerous times; “where is the sauce?”.
Saucepans are employed daily in our household; my hubby is a classically French trained chef with over 20 years experience in the industry and like Manu – loves his sauces! I too love to make a sauce (or two) specially to compliment my beloved pasta. I interchange between making a béchamel sauce to add to a Bolognese sauce for lasagna, or a veloute, again to aid as a sauce for pasta or to thicken a pie mixture. Both are white sauces made with a foundation of butter and flour heated in the saucepan; bechamel has milk added, while a veloute has a stock.
After receiving the
Scanpan Pro IQ Saucepan 1.5L 18cm to test, my hubby and I both confirm we love this saucepan. We unanimously agree that the overwhelming winning feature of this saucepan is the ceramic titanium non-stick coating; there was nothing sticking to this baby! I made my trusty veloute sauce using the
Scanpan Pro IQ and typically, if using an inferior saucepan, you would normally see the butter & flour begin to stick to the base of the pan. However, not the case using the Scanpan Pro IQ Saucepan! The veloute came away seamlessly from the base and sides of the saucepan making it a dream to construct and later eat.
Perhaps this is a result of it being made of 100% environmentally friendly recycled aluminium core which is squeezed cast for quick and even heat distribution.
It is a perfect capacity size at 1.5 litres and 18cm in diameter – additionally, a perfect size to store in a pot draw or shelf.
