Just when we manage to convince ourselves that we’re happy with the Le Creuset colours that are already in our store, (in all honesty, we are already a bunch of lucky people who have a mix of colourful Le Creuset pieces), they then decided to come out with a 2018 Christmas bang and we weren’t going to let this one pass. Meet Metallic! It’s constructed with high-quality enamel. If you look closer, this Christmas collection dazzles with solid shades that can sometimes seem like its transitioning between glassy and sheeny. While many of the Le Creuset colours we have come in glazed coating the likes of Volcanic, Flint and Coastal Blue, they could also mistakenly resemble this new Metallic. We have to hand it to Le Creuset this time. The Metallic effect is so much more pronounced, making sure that the Christmas vibe comes across well.
What's even more Christmassy, is that they went all out with the iconic Christmas Tree shape for their plates. The whole Metallic collection is microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe which is fabulous as it helps you to prep food in advance and serve them hot after, all without losing presentation. The Christmas Tree Plate is available in three colours, Metallic Cerise, Metallic White and Metallic Kale.
We must say, we wish the Metallic effect is available for other Le Creuset products like the French Ovens, Casseroles and Skillets. (Hint Hint to Santa!). But for now, Metallic is available in stoneware items like the Christmas Tree Plate, the Stoneware Heritage Collection, the mini ramekins, mini bowls, mugs and the stackable ramekins.
Serve crème brûlée and soufflé, make them as Christmas gifts to your mum, Nonnas, Yayas or as a wedding gift to the newlyweds in the family. There could be something for everyone.
