The holiday gatherings are starting to wind up soon and while Le Creuset, Ecology and Royal Doulton are giving you plenty of reasons to whip up sumptuous meals in the kitchen with their stunning tableware collection, Ladelle is giving you even more reasons to present them in different themes and setup.
We are in what seems like an interminable search for the quintessential tabletop pieces. When we realised that Ladelle — one of our recent favourite tableware brand came out with a number of impressive pieces under their Mosaic, Fiesta, Loop, Classic and Catalina line, we were intrigued. If you, like us, was hunting for sexy servingware, plates, platters and table linens, Ladelle definitely has some fantastic options.
Take the Nadia collection for instance. The collection varies in three different shades of blue for more of the North Atlantic Ocean feel - Teal, Navy and Cornflower Blue. Pretty calming and presents a lot of the Spanish Coastline charm for a reasonable price.
If you ask us, Christmas doesn’t always have to be red, white and green, (especially not in this part of the world). In this article, we are going to give you the skinny on pieces we selected from the Nadia, Classic, Eat Well, Mali, Oasis and the Jade Palm range — Why? what is it for? and why it’s amazing?
Piece by Piece with Two Shades of Blue
We love good design and a new tablescape should be just that and not only a set of plates, glasses and cutleries. It has to be modular, mixable, design solution and should be a set that brings personality to your table. The three different Nadia colours can be used individually or mixed together. (We would mix). We recommend placing the Nadia Dinner Plate 27.7cm (Teal) on the Nadia Platter 33.5cm (Navy) to create a combination of two different hues of blue on the table for the main dish.
You can even try it with Teal against Cornflower Blue or Cornflower Blue against Navy. Whichever you feel looks good. Either way, Nadia’s embossed floral designs will be the main element that helps enhance these three shades. Try throwing in a colour combo of the Nadia Mugs too. And if you have a delicious dessert after a good meal, serve it up with the Indigo or Aquamarine Mini Round Bowl from the Eat Well range. It is simple and well shaped.
The Mini Round Bowl is sold in a set of 4 measuring 6cm in diameter and 2.4 cm in height. But if you prefer a bigger dessert serving, the Mini Round Bowl set of 2 measuring 11.2 cm in diameter and 6.2 cm in height is also a good alternative.
Like any good restaurant, we recommend using only a few shapes and sticking to the same shade of colour (in this case shades of blue).
Jazz Up the Table with Cork Trivet and Placemats
Trivets and placemats aren't just for children or for easy clean of spills. Many use it for aesthetic reasons and that’s alright. We absolutely understand why. Who doesn't love a good design right? Have you seen Ladelle’s collection of cork trivets and placemats? They are uniquely crafted and will showcase a creative table display. As we put it in our last Mexican Fiesta article, it is a full-sensory experience when it comes to hosting and eating.
While the Nadia collection is packed with Ocean hues, you can play around with geometric patterns on placemats and trivets to compliment the whole look. Check out Mali White Cork Placemat (2). It will look great when you pair it with Nadia's Navy or Teal Dinner Plate. Each placemat colour is available in a set of 4.
Not forgetting the cork trivets (3) and (4) can be a stylish addition when you need to serve food in a heated pot or pan.
While many would consider tablecloths as a requirement to complete a look for your table, they can also arrive with too many different shapes and sizes that are sometimes not an ideal fit for your family table.
And the next best alternative to that would be to use crafty designed trivets and placemats.
For a more neutral and lighter table setting, Ladelle’s Jade Palm collection has matching trivets, placemats, pot holders, oven mitts, and hardboard coasters. This is probably one of Ladelle’s collection where we would most likely use when we don’t really feel like fighting the current aesthetic environment of our venue. For other casual looks, try placemats from the Lohan range.
Chips and Dips have Never Looked So Good.
When we are putting together a plate of chips and dips, we are typically more fascinated in the nibbles more than the plate we serve them in. (Besides, we can only eat the chips and not the plate). Chips aside, these serving sticks and bowls from the Ladelle Loop and the Classic collection have shapes, colours and sizes designed to upstage the food they were meant to showcase. And frankly, they look pretty amazing.
These loopy looking entree and antipasto servers — as we rightfully describe them, is designed with features that have 3 unique compartments so you can serve a variety of antipasti, fruits and veggies. The Ladelle Loop serving bowl is 32 cm and is available in Charcoal, Vanilla and White. It is made from porcelain and has a generous surface space for easy reach of your entrees.
Not forgetting the bright and bold colours of the serving sticks from the Ladelle Classic range. Each of these serving sticks is designed with natural rubberwood handle.
The thing about table setting is, there are about a million different ways to do it. Thankfully Ladelle gives us more reason to play with shapes and shades that can be considered a match to each other regardless of the range, which of course depends on the theme and mood you are trying to set.
And if you are saying yes to a vibrant Summer Christmas gathering with friends and family, then you should definitely consider taking a look at Ladelle's stunning pieces first.
