S’well Water Bottle 500ml
I have to admit that I am guilty of that cardinal sin of not drinking enough water. I know how important it is and am well versed in the myriad health and beauty benefits, yet somehow I often get to the end of the day realising that I’ve hardly had anything to drink.
When I received my
S’well bottle from Everten, I hoped that it would improve my habits. Firstly, I was suitably impressed by the packaging, a cool heavy cardboard cylinder and a nice little note inside with care instructions and details.
The designs range from inconspicuous to tropical to leopard print. I chose the tranquil Destination Aspen, so that I can enjoy the view while I work at my desk. When I got to work I filled my
water bottle up with ice cold water from the dispenser and I actually drank the whole bottle by lunch time. I filled it up again before I left and threw it in my bag. This bottle is fully insulated so when you fill it with ice cold water you cannot feel any hint of temperature on the outside. That means zero condensation and the vacuum seal means no spills or leakage. So there is no need to worry about ruining your designer bag, or soaking every receipt you have tossed inside it.
After I’d picked my kids up from school and we were driving home, my daughter was complaining that her water bottle was empty, so I dexterously poured in some water from my S’well. She was incredulous, “where did you get ice from?” Two hours later it was still ice cold. More amazingly, I left the bottle in my car overnight and the next day my water was still as cold. S’well promises to keep drinks for 24 hours and hot for 12 hours and it does! I don’t usually carry around hot drinks but I decided to put it to the test - 6 hours later, my hot water was indeed still hot.
As an everyday water bottle the S’well looks fabulous, keeps liquid the right temperature and is leak proof. It is ideal to keep up your water intake while you work, on the go and was the perfect Pilates companion. Best of all it reduces plastic bottle waste and its materials are non-toxic, and BPA free. Did I mention that S’well supports
UNICEF’s Tap Project to provide clean drinking water to the world’s most at risk children?
The only thing to note is that while the bottle neck is wider than a regular bottle, I found it a struggle to get a full ice cube in. Filling your ice cube tray halfway will solve this one easily.
Three weeks later I have been carrying around my S’well constantly and in addition to many compliments, I have been drinking a lot more (great tasting) water. I think this new habit is here to stay.
