A Little Bit of Fun in the Monbento Tressor Kids Lunch Box
Bento is a complete home-packed meal in one box popular in Japanese cuisines and in other Asian cultures. The bento typically consists of a main dish and a few sides. While in a traditional bento, it usually consists of rice, vegetables, meat or fish and a small sweet treat for dessert. Most Bentos are placed neatly in a reusable Japanese style lunch boxes while some push the creativity and effort into making a unique and colourful lunch that's both pleasing to the eye as well as its taste. As parents, we constantly try to invent and create new ways for our kids to enjoy their meals, be it carbs, protein, fruits or vegetables. There is nothing quite like seeing your child enjoy a deliciously healthy meal. This Teddy Bear Pizza recipe adds a touch of fun to your kids' meals. It features a pizza shaped in an adorable teddy bear face nestled on a bed of delicious healthy greens to replicate the image of a bear in the forest. You can vary the fillings and add more bears according to your kid's appetite, diet and preference. Prep time: 10mins | Cook time: 10mins | Serves: 1Ingredients:
- 250g of flour
- 150ml of lukewarm water
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- ½ an instant baker’s yeast pack
- A pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp of tomato sauce
- A handful of grated Emmental cheese
Instructions:
- In a salad bowl, mix flour, yeast and salt. Make a well and add water and oil. Knead until you obtain a smooth dough that doesn’t stick.
- Preheat the oven at 220°C.
- Flour your kitchen counter and roll out the dough. Using a couple of cookie cutters, cut out 1 circle of about 6 cm of diameter for the bear’s head, and 2 circles of about 2 cm for its ears. Place the dough circles in order to form the teddy bear, overlapping them slightly and pressing gently to bind them.
- Spread the tomato sauce and sprinkle with grated cheese.
- Bake for 5 to 10 minutes.
- This recipe goes perfectly with a few arugula leaves, cherry tomatoes, grated carrots for the starter. As a dessert, place a handful of blueberries and cherries in the food boxes included in the MB Tresor bento box.
