The Scrub Daddy is my new little friend and helper around the kitchen. Not just a pretty face, he can scrub off virtually anything on any surface or hard to clean the area and do so in a non-abrasive way, so there is no worry about damaging the surfaces of your pots and pans. No wonder that Scrub Daddy is the number one best seller from Shark Tank!
When Scrub Daddy is used, there is no need to add harsh chemicals to remove stubborn stuck on debris. The sponge’s texture works in the same way as a scourer, yet the high tech polymer material is more forgiving on pans. Scrub Daddy’s texture also changes with the temperature of the water – remaining stiff in cold water and becoming softer and more pliable in warm water. To be honest, I still find Scrub Daddy’s texture still remains similar to a scourer in warm water, plus for baked-on foods, I would always use warm water to loosen anyway, so have yet to use the sponge much in cold water.
Scrub Daddy does have a cute face, but that design has more purpose than to cheer you up while doing the dishes. The eyes are to give an easy grip hold while you scrub, while the smile is able to thoroughly go over hard to clean areas, such as pan handles or silverware.
One thing I really hate about traditional sponges is that they can harbour bacteria, just being rinsed and used over and over again. One of my favourite aspects of Scrub Daddy is that it can be cleaned and sanitized simply by placing on the top shelf of the dishwasher. Scrub Daddy will also remain odour resistant – another reason this is not your average, everyday old sponge!
