I received this Eco Fresh Keeper Pad just at the same time my fridge happened to stop working. We were still within our warranty period, which is great because it means we were able to get a new fridge/freezer, however, this ended up taking a lot longer than we liked being at the mercy of the manufacturer.
Unfortunately, I needed to throw out dairy products and perishable items, but having nowhere else to store our produce but the fridge, I immediately inserted this Eco Fresh Pad. I found none of the veggies spoiled or even had a strange smell during this time. Because what this pad is designed to do, is that it keeps food fresher for longer by reducing moisture and odours which come from an excess of bacteria.
The pad comes with 100% natural ceramic pellets inside – this is the ingredient which works its magic on the fridge environment, removing harmful gases such as ethylene and carbon dioxide. This, of course, means food will stay fresh for longer, which in turn saves money. I absolutely hate to waste good food and try to avoid this wherever possible.
You know, that disgusting juice which pools in the bottom of your veggie drawer? I’ve found the Eco Fresh Pad stopped this from forming. I’m sure if you left a bunch of celery for a few months, of course, it wouldn’t be able to stop the breaking down process, but generally speaking, I have found a definite increase in the length of the freshness of our vegetables and other perishable food products.
The Eco Fresh pad measures 14cm x 14cm and has two suction cups on the back which hold it in place. I tried moving it around my fridge – in the door, in the actual produce drawer and at the top in the back – it seemed to have the same freshness effect no matter where it was placed.
Note: The Eco Fresh Pad is also good for pantries. I think this will come in very handy during the summer months when there is a risk of spoilage due to excess moisture.
