Royal Doulton

Founded by John Doulton, Royal Doulton started as a humble business in 1815 with John Doulton taking his experience in crafting storage jars and ceramic sewerage pipes into developing the first glazed tableware.

In the mid 1800s, Doulton was commissioned by Queen Victoria to produce water filters for all her castles and palaces. John Doulton was beyond his time being the first to hire art students and designers, many of them women in 1880s, eventually being the first potter in history to be awarded knighthood. Over the decades that past, Doulton's brand became a British icon, contributing architectural fittings to landmark buildings across London leading to it being officially named Royal Doulton at the start of the 1900s.

Today Royal Doulton has become a benchmark for quality and timeless design producing incredible tableware and drinkware, including partnering with celebrities like Gordon Ramsay to produce popular ranges like the Royal Doulton Maze and the Royal Doulton Union Street collections as well as Ellen DeGeneres Love Signature and Holiday collections. Royal Doulton 1815 pastel collection is a fan-favourite as well, as Pacific Blue that features striking deep blue patterns that add character and style to any table.
