Why Woll Diamond Lite is The Best Everyday Frypan

I’ve got a new assistant in my kitchen, in the form of this Woll Diamond Lite Frypan. This pan’s non-stick coating is enforced with tiny particles of diamonds within each layer offering superb durability and heat retention. It is a pure genius of Woll to combine the hard-wearing properties of diamonds in a non-stick pan, as traditional non-stick pans have been notoriously difficult to maintain their quality over time. With this saute pan, metal utensils can be used without damaging the surface. You can even put this pan in the dishwasher making it super easy to clean! Something that would normally cause damage to the coating of nonstick cookware. Another fantastic element of this frying pan is the detachable handle. This allows you to start cooking on the stovetop, achieving perfectly browned edges and crusts and then transfer to the oven for baking or roasting. The handle has an easy release button that clicks on and off with ease. The shallow base will fit into the narrowest of oven shelves.

3 Family Dinner Ideas with the Woll Diamond

The large width of this 32cm pan is so useful for cooking family-sized dinners. I love how this saves me time and creates less mess, as I can do everything in one pan. Here are 3 of my favourite healthy, family-friendly dinners to cook in this pan: Spaghetti with Sardines or Mackerel: Simply sauté onions and garlic in the pan, and then add a tin or two of sardines/mackerel and tomato passata. Heat through until bubbly. Finish with cooked and drained spaghetti, making sure to add a few tablespoons of the pasta cooking water. Season with salt and pepper and then top with fresh basil or parsley and olive oil. Chicken Nuggets: Cut chicken breast into large bite-sized pieces, salt and pepper well then coat in flour, then beaten egg, then breadcrumbs. Heat some oil in the pan and fry on one side until golden, about 5 minutes. Turn over then transfer the pan to a hot oven for 10 more minutes or until browned on both sides and opaque in the middle. Crispy Skin Salmon with Fire Roasted Potatoes: Prick potatoes all over with a fork, drizzle with oil and salt and cover with foil. Place in the embers of a fire (or bake in a hot oven) for one hour. Take out of the foil and serve in the same pan as your salmon (see cooking tips below)

Tip: How to Achieve Crispy Fish Skin Every Time

  1. Score the fish skin by pinching and making one or two slashes.
  2. Dry skin well with a paper towel, salt and pepper the skin side and place down in the hot oil.
  3. Once all fillets are in the pan, give it a shake. Leave to cook skin side down for about 2 minutes until the flesh near the skin is starting to turn opaque.
  4. Take the pan off the heat. For thin fillets, turn over and allow the residual heat in the pan to finish cooking the fish. For thick fillets, place pan in a hot oven for about 5 minutes more, then take out of the oven and turn over to flesh side down and allow the fillet to rest (it will continue to cook throughout of the direct heat).
