Homemade Pickled Cucumbers in Kilner Jars

David Kahn |

Easily Pickle Cucumbers at Home with Kilner Preserve Jars

We enjoy a good pickled cucumber every now and then. It adds a layer of crunch and extra tartness to your homemade burgers and sandwiches. You might be wondering, “why go through all the trouble of pickling cucumbers when you can easily buy them from the store?”. Well, there is just something therapeutic about making your own version at home. You can control what goes into the jars and adjust the flavours according to your liking.

When it comes to pickling, the jars you use are equally important as the ingredients you plan to use. We recommend using the Kilner Preserve Jars for pickling as glass containers are non-porous, making them a healthier choice to store food as opposed to plastic containers. The screw-top lid features a vacuum seal and metal screw band to ensure a proper air-tight seal that is key to preserving food. With the help of this recipe, you can get started with the basics of pickling and soon you can also incorporate other vegetables into your pickling jars.
