Easy French Toast Recipe

Elza Hean |

Tasty and easy French toast under 30 minutes!

This french toast recipe is the perfect breakfast combo of sweet and savoury flavours. The recipe requires sourdough bread instead of regular bread for its distinctive tang and crunchiness on the edges. To achieve its crusty texture, you'll need a quality nonstick frying pan. For this recipe, we used the Le Creuset Toughened Non-Stick Frypan as it provides extra strength and abrasion resistance for the perfect release when cooking. This recipe is also a great way to use up leftover or stale sourdough bread. Stale bread can often be dry so this recipe is perfect for turning your stale sourdough into a delicious breakfast or brunch meal.

Ingredients
  • 6 thick slices of sourdough
  • 6 eggs, beaten
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oil
  • 250g streaky bacon
  • 45ml maple syrup
Method 1. Season the eggs well with salt and pepper. 2. Soak the bread slices in the egg mixture, flipping them over after 2 minutes. 3. Heat a non-stick frying pan to medium heat and cook the soaked bread until golden brown. 4. Place the bacon on a baking slide and drizzle with the maple syrup. 5. Grill until golden and sticky and serve with French toast. Recipe source: Le Creuset
