Using these Thermos flasks and
food containers make me feel all warm and cozy inside. There is something delightfully retro about Thermos. It’s one of these brands (along with Kleenex and Hoover to name two others) that are so famous that their brand name has become synonymous with the actual product. Thermos brand was the first and they truly remain the best. Extremely sturdy, well-designed and crafted with premium materials, they keep your food and drinks hot for 12 hours OR cold for 24 hours. Just holding a Thermos container, you can feel that this product is going to last a lifetime.
One of my favourite Thermos pieces is the classic Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated
Food Flask in midnight blue. I love this flask because it comes with a cup inside the lid. So you can open up the spout and properly pour yourself a cup of tea, just the way it should be! In fact, my husband spots an elderly man on the train each morning opening his briefcase and having a sandwich with his cup of tea from his Thermos flask on the way to work. I’d be willing to bet he’s had this same flask and tradition for a long time.
Even though Thermos has been around for over a century, they have made sure to move with the times and updated their products to suit the preferences of their customers. Many variations of the classic flask can now be found- with built-in straws or hygienic drinking spouts to suit your sipping preference.
We have both the Commuter Hydration Bottle with Flip Spout and the Commuter Bottle White. Both these flask variants keep drinks hot for 12 hours and cool for up to 24. My husband prefers to take the flip spout with the rubber grip around the container to work. I use the white commuter bottle every day, either for protein smoothies on the go, or for use as my eco-friendly
reusable coffee cup for when I’m out and about town. I find the wide drinkable spout on this version easier for hot drinks. The flip spout may be better suited for cold drinks. Regardless of hot or cold, both containers have a sweat-proof exterior, so will never leak condensation in your bag. Both containers have locks on the lids so will never open up while jostling around in your bag and create a big mess.
Thermos also offers the kiddies covered with several cute designs for
water bottles and food containers. They hit the nail on the head with us with the Lightening McQueen Funtainer drink bottle and Disney Cars Food Jar 290ml. Again, they simply blow other drink bottles out of the water with the durability and performance. I’m done with buying cheap plastic drink bottles for my boys that just leak in their backpacks or fall apart after a few uses. The food container is perfect for sending hot food in lunch boxes for school lunch. I love the variety and comfort this can bring to a little one’s day. The adult version of the food jar is the classic Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Food Jar in Midnight Blue. This beautiful Thermos container is simple and classic in its design, yet has so many handy features, such as a lid that doubles as a serving bowl and a built-in spoon that folds out to make a full-sized, durable piece of stainless steel cutlery. The capacity of the jar is 470ml, which I find makes for a hearty serving size of soup, stew or casserole. This would be a wonderful piece of kit for a camping trip, mid-week lunch at your desk, or for use on a sunny winter’s day picnic.
