For over 29 years, Savannah have been creating quality kitchenware, aiming to solve daily problems faced in the kitchen with clever innovative tools to make life simpler. Starting from only one product, the
famous potato chipper, the brand has expanded into over 110 unique products.
One thing that Savannah shares across all of their range is that they truly offer fantastic value for money without any compromise on quality or performance. Another is that they are also designed in Australia and undergo rigorous testing in their development, which is probably why they are also backed by a minimum 5-year warranty.
Below is my take on a number of their best sellers.
One-Handed Smart Tongs
These tongs have a couple of well- designed features which make them a real help to use around the kitchen. The 300C heat resistant silicon edges are narrow and scalloped on the edges allowing for food to be easily gripped and able to reach into small spaces and corners. One side is also slotted, meaning excess liquid can drain through. This is useful when lifting olives out of jars or pasta out of the cooking water. A simple locking mechanism means you can easily close and lock the tongs with a turn from your thumb. I love the ease of using these tongs with one hand. Often I’ve got my baby on my hip whilst cooking, cleaning and tidying so the features on the Smart Tongs have proved very helpful to me, indeed. You can find the Savannah One Hand Smart Tongs

BBQ Tongs
I found these tongs to be robust and easy to use. I love the length, as I’ve regularly come close to burning my hands when turning something near the back of the BBQ. As with the kitchen smart tongs, the ends are angled, allowing them to get into hard to reach places. The arms are made of high-quality stainless steel and it has a roll-lock mechanism on the side, which keeps the tongs neat and tidy when not in use. The BBQ Tongs also have a hanging loop for easy storage. You can find the Savannah One Handed Barbecue Tongs

Avo-Shark
I have enjoyed this product so much that I intend to give it as gifts to many family and friends this Christmas. Not only for the cute shark design, but for the multi-functional uses in working with avocados. These include cutting, removing the stone, slicing the skin, scooping and mashing the flesh. A safety cover is removed to reveal a serrated curved knife, which slices perfectly into the skin of the avocado. Turn the Avo Shark around to push some small prongs into the pip, which removes it with ease. The other end of the gadget has a scooper, curved to replicate an avocado’s shape. Use this same side to mash the flesh, if required. It mashes easily to make perfectly smooth guacamole every time. You can find the Savannah Avocado Shark

Dual Thickness Speed Slicer
This handheld mandolin is an easy way to make quick slices of fruits and vegetables. Lying flat, it hardly takes up any room for storage in your kitchen, unlike most bulky mandolins. Using the slicer was very self-explanatory: The blade is double-edged making speedy slices on both the up and down motion. The blade is also easily removed and placed into the opposite side of the base to make a thicker slice. The handguard has been designed to be able to grip vegetables from several different angles. This is a very useful feature, as I’ve found holding what you are slicing is the most difficult aspect of using a mandolin. The slider fits perfectly onto the base, making it feel easy and safe to slice the fruit/vegetable right until the end. You can find the Savannah Julienne Speed Slicer

Smart Grater
This grater works by using an easy twist motion and has two chambers which sit over the small blades, meaning you can finely grate 2 separate ingredients at the same time like nuts and chocolate. I put two kinds of hard cheeses in my grater, making a delicious cheese blend for topping pizzas and snacks. It features a base lid to catch droppings for clean storage in the fridge. Y Speed Peeler
This peeler is simple and effective. The ergonomic design of the rubber handle makes for an easy grip and therefore fast work. The blades are sharp enough to peel a very soft skin such as a peach or tomato, yet strong enough for harder vegetables such as carrot and swede. The peeler is dishwasher safe. I particularly like the compact size and light weight. You can find the Savannah Y Speed Peeler

Super Wide Peeler
I had never seen a peeler like this and I love the thought that has been put into its design. I was able to make delicate, paper thin slices of eggplant, which would’ve been extremely difficult to do with a knife. The sturdy Japanese steel blades are also strong enough to take the skin off pumpkin and butternut squash. The handle fit perfectly into my hand. This is also one of the Everten team's favourite kitchen tools! You can find the Savannah Super Wide Peeler

Bamboo Cutting Board
I took one look at this cutting board and knew exactly how I was going to use it. I always have a problem with juices running off the cutting board when resting meat after cooking. With this board the juices are trapped in the well around the edge, allowing you to save them to use as jus or in meat sauces. Made of bamboo, which is sturdy yet not harsh on knives, the board is reversible with the other side flat for perfect carving. Bamboo is also an eco-friendly material and is naturally anti-bacterial.
