The gift-giving season is literally just around the corner, so the time to start thinking about it is now! Everten has you covered on all bases this year for everything culinary related. From Wine Glasses, Dinner Sets and Picnic Baskets to BBQ Accessories, Beer Glasses and Knife Sets.
If you’re anything like me, you wrack your brain thinking of what to get the people on your gift list. Check out the Christmas Gift Giving Guide – it’s been divided into so many useful categories, such as Gifts for Her, For Him, For Bakers, For Gardeners, For Kids, For Pampering, plus many more. This truly will make your shopping experience fast and easier this year!
However, if you would like some personal recommendations, here is my list of awesome goodies and gadgets, sure to delight any foodie!
The bakers in your life will love the classic bakeware designs from Mason Cash. Each piece with retro vintage flair, they are made from quality smooth, white porcelain.
Mini Saucepots are all the rage in pro-kitchens, that’s because they are as equally useful as they are cute! Heat up sauces right before serving, toast spices and melting chocolate can all be done in these small pans. I love the professional look of the copper. Check out this one by Chef Inox.
A good knife sharpener is a really useful thing to have in the kitchen, and I’m surprised how many people don’t regularly sharpen their knives – if ever! Give a keen cook this Global Water Knife Sharpener and watch his/her eyes light up when they see how sharp the knives become! This sharpener is so easy to use and takes a little water in the chamber to keep the whetstone cool. See Becky's post on how to sharpen a Global knife with a Water Sharpener.
A reusable water bottle. Many people are thinking about wanting to make an impact on climate change, even in very small ways. Cutting plastic and going for an eco-friendly re-usable bottle, such as Life Factory is a nice idea and would make a conscientious gift. Learn more about this bottle and how it will fit perfectly into your everyday life.
A set of Laguiole cheese knives. What foodie doesn’t love cheese and wine? Come to think of it, wine doesn’t have anything to do with these knives but I just wrote that by default! These knives are so elegant and look beautiful on an entertaining cheese board.
The Avo Shark: I personally gave these little cuties out to everyone on my list last year. They have been perfectly designed around how best to cut avocados, including taking out the stone. Literally, the easiest way to make guacamole for your guests. Here are four ideas on how to change up your guacamole using the Avo Shark.
A spiraliser. These are all the rage now as more and more people want to eat more veggies and reduce carb intake by cutting down on pasta. You can make hundreds of recipes like garlic prawns with zucchini noodles or a summer beetroot with walnut and feta dish. Here is our guide to which one is best.
Everyone’s talking about gut health these days. Give a health-conscious foodie this Fermentation Crock or Kombucha Brewing Jar from Mortier Pilon. They can make and create their own kombucha recipes, rich in anti-oxidants and vitamins in the comfort of their own home.
Of course, you can buy functional knives for everyday use and utility jobs. But how about a very special knife? Shun knives are super sharp and have been designed similar to samurai swords. Each knife features a stunning and unique etched pattern on the blade. Read about the premier Knife Block by Shun here.
Riedel glasses are featured in most top restaurants. They are THE glasses for wine lovers. There are many different designs which bring out the individual characteristics of each wine. Read my food and wine pairing guide here and read more about Riedel glasses and what glasses suit what wines. I like the stemless ones as they look modern and are much less likely to break.
One of the best things I did this year was to experiment with making cheese and kefir. I’m simply in love with Mad Millie Kits – there are so many fun DIY kits to choose from. Read about my kefir making experience here!
This has to be my number one Christmas gift for foodies! The Davis & Waddell Infusion Smoker adds an all natural smoky taste into almost anything – try it in sauces, on BBQ meat, fish, even cocktails. Even better is how quick and easy it is to use – literally takes 2 minutes to infuse a fantastic smoke into food. It’s also just very fun to use! Check out my review and recipe here.
