What started as a company producing sinks and sanitary fittings has now led to the creation of Chasseur's famed cast iron casseroles (also known as dutch ovens) and cookware. What are Chasseur Dutch Ovens made of?

Chasseur dutch ovens are made from high-quality cast iron from start to finish in France. Cast iron is an excellent material to rely on when it comes to cooking. It has excellent heat retention to allow your casserole to stay hot for many hours, and with the proper care, cast iron will last a lifetime and can even be passed down to your grandkids someday! Cast iron is so durable that it can go from the stovetop straight into the oven. All of Chasseur's cast iron cookware is completed following a traditional process that requires two stages: the casting of cast iron, followed by enamelling. Every piece is hand cast and crafted from single sand moulds, which are then destroyed after. All Chasseur cast iron and cookware go through a vigorous quality check before the enamelling phase, where each piece is handpainted with beautiful colours. The interior and exterior surfaces are typically enamelled in 2 or 3 layers depending on their shade of colour and glazed at a high temperature of approximately 800°C.
