Summertime is here, and nothing says family BBQs and entertaining for friends more to me than these Aquamarine ‘Eat Well’ baking/serving dishes from Ladelle. I just had to get this particular colour (although there is a choice of Indigo, Grey and White) and got them out as soon as the first hot day arrived.
These dishes are designed to go straight from the oven to the table, which is really the only way I roll these days. One less step in the kitchen is always welcome in my book. My top tip for making dishes look more presentable on the table when they come right out of the oven is to give everything a good stir, and then add a fresh garnish, such as chopped herbs or a drizzle of sauce.
I was surprised at how deep and wide these dishes are. You can’t really tell from photos, but they are much larger than they appear. This makes them perfect for entertaining. I took my dishes to my neighbourhood Christmas party, each piled high with salads to cater for 20 + people. See my Broccoli Pea Salad here, always a winner at gatherings, or check out our post on the Perfect Summer Salads for Entertaining.
You could set your table in so many fun ways with this Ladelle Eat Well range. Use contrasting colours such as yellow, pink and green for a colourful summertime party, or keep your colours to other tonal blues, or neutrals like cream, grey or white and let your delicious food provide the pops of colour on the table.
This spring I have become obsessed with this Charred Cauliflower Salad from the cookbook Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi. As well as the crispy edges on the roasted cauliflower, it has added texture and flavour with a scattering of roasted nuts, currants and parsley. I have adapted this recipe from the original.
Now that you have seen how simple Ladelle's colours and shapes can give depth to your tablescape this summer, you might like other pieces from the Eat Well range for more options and inspiration.
