Great product

I really love this mandolin and it is one of the most frequently used items in my kitchen. I've owned two before but this is by far the best. The blades can be locked away safely so I don't cut my fingers when reaching into the cupboard, plus I can adjust settings without getting my fingers anywhere near the blades. That was not possible on my previous mandolins. I bought it for its dicing capability and it doesn't disappoint. It is much easier and more convenient for setting up, using, cleaning and putting away than a food processor and is much cheaper too. I've also seen a demonstration on Youtube creating slices featuring criss-crossing cuts, which is not included in the manual. I haven't tried that yet but will do so soon.

Excellent product

I was very impressed at how easy it is to select the option required, needs a little bit of muscle to use when slicing firmer vegetables like potatoes. It's extremely simple to clean - just put it in the top tray of the dishwasher.

Very sharp instrument

This mandolin is very sharp but I have extreme difficulty cutting hard vegetables like potato and carrot. The configuration makes it impossible to slice vegetables all the way to the end so there is a big piece left at the end. It did make some really excellent zucchini spaghetti however.

Progressive Professional Mandolin PL8-1050

Excellent product. Very easy and safe to use. Only gripe is cleaning the blade(not supposed to get it wet) and doesn't seem to be replaceable when it gets blunt???
