Setting the Table with Style
As I first laid eyes on my Ecology Speckle Duck Egg 12pc Dinner Set, it was the unique shape and dimpled-speckled texture that caught my attention. How much flair does my set have!? Contemporary look! I had to contain my excitement as I individually unveiled each piece from the box. Every plate and bowl is unique in its own right...AND totally steering away from classic dinner sets. YES! It sparks conversation and interest at dinner parties, and this becomes very evident when comments like ”How fantastic is your dinner set. I love the colour" or “I can’t believe how attractive your dinnerware is”. You know you have it right when the topic of conversation with guests is about the dinnerware. I especially love how easy the colour blends in with timber, black, grey and the lovely greenery. This set is ticking so many boxes and getting smiles out of guests. Win-win! Initially, I started with a blank canvas. Since the dining table is a lighter timber, selecting a unique colour and light hues for my dining set will give a good fit to the theme I thought of. Duck Egg is a mixture of blue and grey and entices excitement when added to lighter wood grains. I decided to keep with a neutral colour scheme of greys (dinnerware and napkin), light wood grain, raw hessian and adding some flair and sophistication with black. I liked the raw hessian tied in with the wood and greenery.5 Don’t-Be-Afraid To’s when Setting The Table:
Don’t be afraid to be spontaneous with your setting, experiment with your placement of plates, bowls, cutlery and napkins. Have one setting different to the person sitting beside you, alternate, or keep the first four the same and second four different on each side of the table. Don’t be afraid to add live greenery to your table setting the aromas of herbs encourages a relaxed setting. There’s nothing like bringing the outdoors in. Don’t be afraid to have a colour scheme and add one or two “outstanding” pieces to the setting. Don’t be afraid to add your own quirky touch to your setting. Don’t be afraid to sit back and admire your dinner setting. Step aside classic silver cutlery and make way for a dash of contemporary and a splash of glamour plus sophistication. THE word that comes to mind with my Tablekraft Soho Ink 16pce Set. My ink cutlery has wowed, not only visually but also practically by using 18/10 stainless steel, PVD coating, is corrosion resistant and food safe. I’m excited to know that my set will last the test of time. With cutlery there are many ways to present them - for example:- Wrap in a napkin, or similar, tied with twine and a sprig of rosemary.
- Position on the plate, to the side of your plate or even on top of your bowl.
- Place on a wooden board or in a cylindrical holder in the centre of the table (or two centre points for longer tables).
- Sit cutlery a small glass jar with their napkin in front of your guest.
